Applying Permethrin

When is the best time to apply? Can I get a jump on the season for fleas or should I wait until I visibly see flees on my dogs ?

With Permethrin SFR, if you’d like to “pre-treat” before you see the fleas on your dog, you can actually use on lawns anywhere between 0.4 oz up to 0.8 oz per 1000 square feet or per gallon of water. That way you can control your lawn or around your home to protect your dogs before they are attached by fleas.  You can also use it to put on your carpets for flea control as well as a 0.5% concentration (1 2/3 fl oz of Permethrin SFR per gallon of water) as a broadcast spray on carpets for flea control. This can be used in the Spring – Fall (as well as indoors year round). Please see the product label for in depth instructions for specific application.
